I wondered whether the milk jugs not only protected the seedlings from cold and harsh weather, but whether, by capturing sunlight, they also heated the soil inside them. So I used my soil thermometer.

The answer is… Well, I have to remember to photograph the results of testing a bed, but — spoiler alert — the answer is No. (I suppose if I were really obsessive I’d test the canteloupe jugs, which are not open to the air, and for that reason might be warmer.) But I’m too lazy for that.) Here is the result:

Oh, and I know dandelions are edible, and are supposed to be beautiful, but I still hate them. They are a sign of matters not being taken care of. Matters like weeding the dandelions, which is not only righteous act, but gets me out from behind the damn computer, which is killing me.
